General questions
What is home health care?
Home health care is medical care provided in your own home, such as skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social services and home health aide support. It helps people recover after a hospital stay or surgery, manage an illness, and stay safe and independent at home.
How is home health care different from non-medical home care?
Home health care is delivered by licensed clinicians, such as registered nurses and therapists, as part of a care plan. Non-medical home care focuses only on everyday help like housekeeping or errands. Our home health aides also help with personal care as part of the overall plan.
Who can benefit from home health services?
Adults recovering from surgery, an illness or a hospital stay, people living with a chronic condition, and anyone who needs skilled nursing or therapy but would rather receive it in the comfort of home.
